Paid Sick Leave And Financial Aid For Anyone Testing Positive - Like That Is Gonna Happen

I mean, doing the absolutely right thing is downright silly.

Maybe we could use some of the ONE TRILLION DOLLAR military budget to pay for keeping some of us alive. Oh, that's right. They are protecting us. From who? Anyone in Iran who is still alive that's who.

Maybe it is time for the world to start working together instead of just spending trillions on weapons.

Oh heck. Let's just go golf, and tweet our a bunch of lies, and attack the media!!!!

And not just for contractors but for service members and civilian support personnel.

So where do you plan to make these cuts so as not to impact these working people?

Since our military is the largest carbon emitter on the planet.

Maybe they could make ventilators, and build out hospital capacity, and not weapons maybe?

I don't know.

20 billion dollar aircraft carriers?

Seems kinda silly when the entire planet is burning that we need "protectin'".

Medicare equals jobs. Social Security equals jobs. Education equals jobs. Every portion of the federal budget "equals jobs".

No one gets their underwear in a twist when the government slashes funding to the NIH or the NSF and destroys academic research jobs from coast to fuckin coast. But suggest making cuts to the military and watch how the public rallies to its defense. Must be nice.

Next, people will be wanting free funerals and burials for all the people who succumb to the virus.

Silly, silly, silly. That will be a real profit earner for the funeral industry and, if it comes down to it, bulldozer and backhoe pit diggers. The important thing is that profits are made, or no deal. People only exist to provide profits, period. The useless eaters have so many silly notions like meaning, love, existence, compassion, etc. Ignorance is truly bliss.

and they have a limited number of days they can be out annually or they are fired. Even if you have a doctor's note, the number of total days doesn't go up all that much.

And sick days aren't paid.

So, no one calls in sick unless they are utterly unable to function.

but she started after the union negotiated longer term employees getting paid more, sick leave, insurance, and a pension.

She gets paid a lot less, has to pay for a much larger portion of her health insurance, and has no sick leave (and certainly no pension).

It was, according to the union, the best deal they could get or production would go to Mexico.

Since then, the top tier has been moving toward the bottom, because of that ever present threat to move. They have moved other production, so they know it can and will happen.

mostly just take their money. I know people are always scared because of the threat that they'll take the company somewhere else. But you have to stand your ground. You were looking for a job when you hired in there. If they shut down you'll be looking for a job.

The son of one of the confirmed cases has been exposed to his parent and his convenience store job insisted he still needs to come in and interact with the dozens of customers who come through every day. As OP says, doing the right thing is downright silly.

to die. And then they laugh.

They are LOOKING FORWARD to watching us die. They've got all the money they need -- now they want planet-wide chaos so they can get stuff for 10 cents on the dollar, and also feel glee as their 'peons' suffer.
