If it keeps doubling every 3 days, in 8 weeks there will be 157,000,000 people infected.

ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SEVEN MILLION PEOPLE.

With a 2% mortality rate, that will be THREE MILLION DEAD.

Probably can't change the total number of cases we'll have, but by slowing the rate of infection, the number of cases at any one time is lessened, which allows the limited medical resources to be applied to more of the cases over time.
