A new social and economic privilege

Those of us who have jobs that can be done from home....and have the technological capability to work from home.... and have employers willing to let us work from home... and have an employer with paid sick leave benefits.... that provides healthcare benefits....

Have a massive freaking privilege in a pandemic.

Do not for one second forget that.

We are a tiny majority in the US. Be advocates for the survival of everyone else. As protective measures are increasingly enacted, I suspect my plea is not hyperbolic. Think of others. Be true Democrats. ❤

Companies that have employees with 'jobs that can be done from home....and have the technological capability to work from home' really ought to decree that such employees should do so now.

Think of crowded commuter trains, offices gatherings, etc that can be averted for the time being.
Every bit of social distancing that can be done now might help make some difference in slowing the spread and, hence, manageability of care for afflicted patients.

Read stories out of Italy and it is clear that any little difference that each person can make, matters.
