There is one I have not seen mentioned as often, or at all really. I've seen sporting events, parades, industry conferences, business meetings, classes at all levels of schooling, music concerts, air travel, cruises, to name a few... but i haven't seen churches announce they are canceling services or shutting down, nor have I seen people recommend as a general policy that people just not go to church.
It seems to me that if college classes, which have similar ranges in the size of the crowd and frequency of meeting as church services, are being canceled then religious gatherings should likewise be. Maybe it is happening and I'm just blind to it, but I haven't encountered it yet.

(115,584 posts)most of the churches are giving up the touchy-feely-huggy stuff that they so often do following Communion (and which I hate anyhow), but they are still holding services (large numbers of people sitting close together in one room). So we'll see how much longer that goes on.

(9,256 posts)No more handshaking, everybodys sitting pretty far apart. Its a big church maybe half full most of the time. I have to serve Communion this Sunday (in the little disposable cups) and after that Ill see if I want to not go for a while or if well have online services.
