I believe when all is said and it will be worst here

We have incompetent leadership, a huge chunk of society that believes at worst it’s like getting the flu, a society that doesn’t call off work for many reasons and an open country that won’t take measures like other countries. I don’t believe this is gonna be anywhere close to like “The Stand” or something, but when we look back at this I believe America will be hit hardest by this virus.

way to take time off of work when they are sick, without life-ruining financial catastrophe ensuing.

No social safety nets and a government which cares about corporate profits more than any other factor makes a pandemic much worse than it would otherwise be.

How many years can you just laugh off every objective measure indicating that we are the dumbest people on earth? The only thing allowing us to pretend otherwise is our ability historically to attract smart immigrants.

He is a shit but knows what side his bread is buttered on. He may not have done anything else but that is more than my governor in Florida has done. Of course here shutting down public gatherings wrecks the economy overnight.

working and education on-line, better sick leave policies, maybe Yang’s basic income, realization that we really are in this together, etc.

But, then, a bunch of us old folks might be dead.

And the US?

We're SO screwed.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/best-healthcare-in-the-world/

Tattered or non-existent social safety net, hideous healthcare system, workaholic and desperate, poverty-ridden population, shit for jobs (lots of shitty jobs), millions of workers with no benefits, no paid sick leave, no child care for working parents whose kids are home from school, no testing and EVIL, incompetent leadership.

Jeeeze.
