Trump's Plan For Keeping Us Safe Was Keeping Some People From China Out Of The US

With partial restrictions on some travel here from China, while god knows how many carriers came here from other places in China, and elsewhere who were positive.

It could have worked!

The most bizarre aspect of Trump's response is that it is a rhetoric of purity: he can keep the virus out, like he keeps the caravans out, or the people from "shithole countries" out. It's delusional, of course, but also feeds back on all the other delusions that have sounded slightly more plausible. The whole wall thing, metaphorically and literally, is nonsense.
