McConnell: House coronavirus bill an 'ideological wish list'
By Jordain Carney - 03/12/20 11:55 AM EDT

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) panned the House coronavirus package on Thursday, calling it an "ideological wish list" and raising fresh questions about whether anything can pass Congress quickly.

"Unfortunately, it appears at this hour that the Speaker and House Democrats instead chose to produce an ideological wish list that was not tailored closely to the circumstances," McConnell said.

“One is reminded of the famous comment from President Obama’s first chief of staff: 'You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,'" he added.

House Democrats unveiled their coronavirus package late Wednesday night. The bill expands unemployment insurance by providing states with at least $1 billion to compensate for administrative costs and other contingencies arising as a result of the coronavirus response.

The bill also provides $500 million for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children to provide food assistance for low-income mothers who lose their jobs due to the coronavirus, as well as $400 million to help local food banks meet increased demand.

His evil and cruelty knows no bounds!

And the Corona virus knows no bounds either. Doesn't matter if you're rich or poor. The virus can find you.

Even when we are facing literally many many deaths in front of us, they are still blocking common sense direct relief for citizens. Hong Kong has already announced a 10,000 hkd (roughly 1.2k US dollars) to each adult citizens there. That's direct relief.

As much as I hate it, how do you think any of Bernie's policy would get through? I personally would just get as much as we can, even if it's not enough, rather than nothing at all.

We can't afford to have Big Brother government nanny-state saving peoples' lives when the market will make all the adjustments we need. The only thing that will fix this coronoavirus without instituting socialism is another tax cut. Well, maybe that in addition to gutting Social Security and Medicare

The Speaker has eaten the Orange Anus's lunch three times in a row. And Moscow Mitch knows he has to protect the Emperor from that Woman.

Appears the Rethugs have gone all in with a Gamble that their Emperor can issue Executive orders in a effort to bail out those big money donors who will be and are being effected.

Read the remarks, pretty damn obvious what the Game Plan is. And we have not seen anything yet.

the house passes a bill. The senate passes their bill with whatever changes can be agreed to.

Then negotiations between the house and senate generates a compromise bill that both have to pass.

The problem isn’t that McConnell doesn’t like the house bill. The problem is mcconnel refuses to pass any bill. That prevents us from getting to reconciliation.

Pass some bill you traitorous piece of shit. Inaction will cause unnecessary deaths and not only to people infected. Bed shortages will effect many more people
