(10,885 posts)black box that you're not showing in your photo. You're just showing the edge of the box, which (in your second photo) is directly above the paragraph beginning with "The Census Bureau is using the internet
". It also contains your Census ID number.
Is your box blank?
NOTE: This mailing is merely the "invitation to respond" to the 2020 Census", not the Census itself. The actual census apparently is online, and we are directed there. What if someone doesn't have a computer or access to one? What happened to supporting the USPS with actually mailing your census?

Overall I was astonished at how poorly designed that letter was. I would call it borderline incompetent. The color scheme looks like a Publishers Clearing House type of thing.
I guarantee plenty of those mailers get thrown away, with people thinking it is a preliminary notice.

(31,963 posts)I worked for the Census on a project in 2015 and they told us then the entire census for 2020 would be online.

(31,963 posts)There are always under counts in every census. They have statistical formulas to adjust for that.

(20,571 posts)I got a questionnaire on one of their surveys and also did not notice a due date. A few days later I got a followup letter that mentioned the penalties for not answering!
