Don't call people "old." Call them "chronologically challenged."

An elderly friend of mine threw that at me today and it cracked me up. But why not? If short people can be called "vertically challenged," and if the fool in the White House could be called "intellectually challenged," what's wrong with calling elderly people"chronologically challenged?"

Like to hear from some "elderly" DUers about this.

At what point, what number are we old? I am thinking 80 is well within that limit. I am hitting 60. I call myself old.

name the movie where "shocked, shocked I tell you" came from.

Actually, all he said was, "There's gambling going on here. I'm shocked," as he pockets his winnings.

My body feels it's age, but my mind is still fine, well as fine as it ever was. I don't feel really old until I see that old broad in the mirror looking back at me.

Elderly, to me, implies a degree of infirmity, illness, or mobility issues that simply don't apply to me.

My personal goal in life is to live long enough that my hypothetical great grandchildren will all agree I'm too mean to die.

much more reasonable size to the restaurant portions. Still not old enough for most though - a few 55s or 60s but more often 65.

darn soon. Old enough to know better and to damn young to quit.

On second thought, been saying that for five plus decades.

Best part, the memories of places and wonderful people whom I have seen or met in that time span.
