"SNIP......

As the novel coronavirus spread in China, the United States had more than a month to observe and prepare for a potential outbreak here. Yet in that span, the government seems to have dragged its heels, especially in terms of preparing and readying a means of testing for the virus. Now, the American public is confronted with the frightening reality that the public is unable to accurately gauge the situation because critical information — like the shortage and delay in tests — make it impossible to know what's going on. How can we know how many people have COVID-19, and where it is spreading, if access to testing is severely limited?

That uncertainty has led some experts to speculate that the true number of cases of COVID-19 is far, far higher than known.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the novel coronavirus has infected more than 1,215 people and has killed at least 36 in the United States. According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the number of cases in the U.S. is 1,312. Yet many medical and public health experts suspect the number of cases is much greater. Two weeks ago, experts at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California speculated that 9,000 Americans had come down with the novel coronavirus. Today, an Ohio health official estimated that there could be 100,000 cases in Ohio alone.

"I think that the number of reported cases is clearly an underestimate, but what I don't know is what the factor of that underestimate is," Dean Blumberg, chief of pediatric infectious diseases and associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UC Davis Children's Hospital, told Salon in an interview. "Are there twice as many cases, or 10 times, I don't know — that is what the widespread testing will tell us; if you don't want to know what's going on, it's a good strategy to not test anybody, but you need to test to know how prevalent it is in our community."

Hope I am wrong but there are still many who think it is overblown or a hoax. Thanks Donald.

The first case in the US

An outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) that began in Wuhan, China, has spread rapidly, with cases now confirmed in multiple countries. We report the first case of 2019-nCoV infection confirmed in the United States and describe the identification, diagnosis, clinical course, and management of the case, including the patient’s initial mild symptoms at presentation with progression to pneumonia on day 9 of illness. This case highlights the importance of close coordination between clinicians and public health authorities at the local, state, and federal levels, as well as the need for rapid dissemination of clinical information related to the care of patients with this emerging infection.

On December 31, 2019, China reported a cluster of cases of pneumonia in people associated with the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan, Hubei Province.1 On January 7, 2020, Chinese health authorities confirmed that this cluster was associated with a novel coronavirus, 2019-nCoV.2 Although cases were originally reported to be associated with exposure to the seafood market in Wuhan, current epidemiologic data indicate that person-to-person transmission of 2019-nCoV is occurring.3-6 As of January 30, 2020, a total of 9976 cases had been reported in at least 21 countries,7 including the first confirmed case of 2019-nCoV infection in the United States, reported on January 20, 2020.

On January 19, 2020, a 35-year-old man presented to an urgent care clinic in Snohomish County, Washington, with a 4-day history of cough and subjective fever. On checking into the clinic, the patient put on a mask in the waiting room. After waiting approximately 20 minutes, he was taken into an examination room and underwent evaluation by a provider. He disclosed that he had returned to Washington State on January 15 after traveling to visit family in Wuhan, China. The patient stated that he had seen a health alert from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about the novel coronavirus outbreak in China and, because of his symptoms and recent travel, decided to see a health care provider.

He misled people to begin with, saying that the cases would go down quickly to nothing, that his was a hoax. His fans as of a few days ago saw it as a “Deep State Hoax”.

He refused the offer of the WHO to supply us with tests because he wanted someone here to Profit Big from it.

Now he bans travel overseas but not to where his Golf Clubs are.

I hope enough people hold him and Moscow Mitch accountable that we swamp Orange Dumbbell and take back the Senate, including beating Moscow Mitch. The Hell with both of them they are greedy despicable excuses for human beings.

spiraling out of control. The healthcare crisis relating to the Corona virus is bad enough, but look at how that's sucking in everything else. From hospitals, education, businesses, entertainment venues, the financial sector, foodstuffs, travel and transportation, consumer goods, hospitality and tourism, it's all collapsing and Trump is still trying to brag about how great he is.

It would come as no surprise to me that we will soon get sucked into a Great Recession, only this time we don't have Obama at the helm to save us and prevent another Great Depression from racing around the world and dragging down every country.
