He is a well-known germophobe. If they said he was going to Mar-a-Lago to wait out the coronavirus and would allow no outsiders to visit, people would believe it. The White House owns an autopen for signing bills. They have someone who writes most of his tweets already. There are computers that can modify the timbre of a spoken voice to make someone sound like Trump. They'd need to find someone of roughly his height, width and golf handicap to go out on a golf course in a wig and surgical mask to play a round or two every few days just to be consistent with his usual routine. With plenty of tweets and phone calls to Fox News, the illusion would be complete.
Two weeks before the election, they would simply have Trump "resign" and have Pence say he would refuse to serve as president if he was to be elected, thereby throwing the election to Biden in the belief Biden would fall on his face if such a disaster were to be dumped in his lap. Six weeks after Biden's inauguration, they would claim Trump died of "natural causes" and they'd bury an empty casket with all due pomp and ceremony.
