Andrew Gillum linked to crystal meth overdose incident in Miami Beach

Miami Beach Police responded to an incident Thursday night involving a potential crystal meth overdose, where police reports show former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum was present.

That’s according to documents from the Miami Beach Police Department first posted online by right-wing activist Candace Owens and first confirmed by Florida Politics.

In a statement, Gillum said he had consumed only alcohol during the night in question.

“I was in Miami last night for a wedding celebration when first responders were called to assist one of my friends,” Gillum said.

“While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines. I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement. I’m thankful to the incredible Miami Beach EMS team for their efforts. I will spend the next few weeks with my family and appreciate privacy during this time.”

bright futures but put themselves in environments that can ruin thier career. He's finished. If your around people using meth- you know it. I like Andrew but he's probably being deceptive.

Did he know that the person in question was using Meth? Again, will wait for more details.
He has a bright future, I hope this incident has not damaged his prospects.

I imagine there will be body camera footage from the police released at some point, it doesn't sound good.

Actually surprised no one present was arrested, possession of meth in Florida is an automatic felony.

Gwen Graham could still be a good challenger to Desantis in 2022.

10. It's going to be exponentially more difficult for Gwen Graham in 2022

Especially if Biden is president. We'll be defending a first term midterm which is almost always a huge deficit nationwide.

DeSantis will be an incumbent. His approval ratings are already way up. Florida governors have an easy time improving popularity merely by handling the annual hurricane situations in high profile fashion.

That 2018 Florida primary result was a disaster. Total unforced error. I will never get over it.

I was hoping that to be the case. I just read the police report. It does not look good. Apparently he was in the bathroom vomiting, when the person that called for help arrived on the scene. Police said the Meth was in plain sight. On the floor and bed.

Was Gillum aware of his friend's meth use. I mean if there were baggies of drugs in visible sight, why in the hell did he not leave that hotel room.
Also, 3rd man on the scene says he was not aware of a wedding.

8. There is likely body camera footage as well that could come out later

He's not going to come back from that the way it is being reported by just about every major media outlet.

No major donors or endorsers are going to back him at this point, imagine the guy that OD giving interviews during the next Governors race in 2022.

No question she would have defeated the joke Ron DeSantis.

Look, I like Andrew Gillum's passion and articulation on the talk shows. But it was world class stupidity for the Sanders wing to force Gillum as our nominee in 2018, given the makeup of the Florida electorate during midterms. It was always going to be older and more conservative than presidential years.

Nominating Gillum not only exploded the socialism topic it likely took down Bill Nelson as well in the senate race. All the fundamentals favored our side, as DemocratSinceBirth posted here and elsewhere numerous times. Only nominating someone who was rejected by 46& of Florida voters as too liberal for the state absolutely threw away that edge in fundamentals. Gillum already had the Tallahassee FBI situation hovering over him.

Rachel Bitecofer and other Dunces of Turnout tried to pretend that ideology didn't matter, that waves of youth would push Gillum easily over the top.

I won't be unhappy if this ends Gillum's career opportunity on a statewide level. Those statewide races are run during midterm years. We'd win a hell of a lot more races nationwide if those governorships, etc. could be switched to presidential years.
