https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/13/politics/read-bill-text-families-first-coronavirus-response-act/index.htmlIts late. I tried looking through it, but I cant see where it will help a family with one self employed spouse and one hourly worker at a public school. No savings to rely on, either. Not sure what well do.

(5,255 posts)5. It provides tax credits
For a self-employed person taking what would be paid sick leave or family leave if they worked for someone other than themselves. Basically, as I read it, a self-employed person needing those benefits does not have to pay taxes to the federal government in the equivalent amounts.
Perhaps the Senate will add more.

I sell pretty things to gift shops etc. I dont think many will be shopping for jewelry and accessories for the foreseeable future so I am pretty much laid off. Worried about my companies, the stores I sell their goods to and me and husband who are now thoroughly screwed.
All of my stores but 2 are small independents who struggle all the time but this will be a death knell for many.
We are also over 60 and husband has asthma and is being tested for possible heart issue.
