NY is getting a lot of praise for their Coronavirus response

Cuomo and NY are mentioned often about actions being taken to fight coronavirus. I have to wonder if it moves Cuomo up the VP charts.

1. Good for Cuomo, but the VP won't be a white guy from the East Coast.

2. From where I sit Cuomo looks to be a very competent,

pragmatic and effective leader. Maybe that's why the far left hates him so much.

4. It took Cuomo a long time to get comfortable.

He is pragmatic and a deal maker that looked after his own self-interest for a long time. He's gotten better, but the ideologues don't like him because he wasn't 100% against fracking right away.

6. He Has Issues

sided too often with the Cons in the state legislature...a control freak to the point we just lost the guy who was making good improvements on the subway.

7. I am a couple of thousand miles away and by

the standards here in New Mexico he looks pretty good. If I was a New Yorker and saw him every day my opinion might be different. Although our current governor is pretty good and a huge step up from the corrupt and incompetent Susana Martinez.

11. I Agree That He Is Doing A Very Good Job On This

but the question is about him as a veep candidate and all I can say is, he's no Mario Cuomo.

12. I live in NM too

but I think our political situation is pretty good. We have a Democratic house and Senate and a Democratic governor. The one thing I was disappointed in was the failure to legalize marijuana.

8. Cuomo is not an ideologue

He's not great for getting progressive change through, but is deeply steady in situations like this. He's understood the mechanisms of NY State government since he was a teenager, of course.

Then no.

9. I anticipate Harris or Klobuchar as the VP. One of them will

be the first woman president I suspect.

10. I am so relieved I live in NY State. I have someone who is actually DOING something about this

and I know we aren't swinging on the barn door like people in states with less competent governors.

That being said, the VP needs to be a black woman.
