Cuomo and NY are mentioned often about actions being taken to fight coronavirus. I have to wonder if it moves Cuomo up the VP charts.

(81,855 posts)He is pragmatic and a deal maker that looked after his own self-interest for a long time. He's gotten better, but the ideologues don't like him because he wasn't 100% against fracking right away.

(10,143 posts)the standards here in New Mexico he looks pretty good. If I was a New Yorker and saw him every day my opinion might be different. Although our current governor is pretty good and a huge step up from the corrupt and incompetent Susana Martinez.

(13,960 posts)but I think our political situation is pretty good. We have a Democratic house and Senate and a Democratic governor. The one thing I was disappointed in was the failure to legalize marijuana.

(6,477 posts)He's not great for getting progressive change through, but is deeply steady in situations like this. He's understood the mechanisms of NY State government since he was a teenager, of course.

That being said, the VP needs to be a black woman.
