Belatedly watching Donald Trump’s speech on COVID-19 response: he congratulates himself, the “great job” he is doing, buoyant that stocks have rebounded (fixating excessively on them, revealing his focus), threatening the Feds. again, and doubling down on misstatements again.
He gives an additional speech that is more revealing of his thinking pattern, since he is emboldened by the stock market rising the last time instead of sinking. He is insulting reporters, boasting that his temperature is fine, doubling down on shaking hands in defiance....
... even though his avoidance of testing is likely from delusions of immunity (stemming from terror that it might be positive). His refusal to test per protocol is like every other exception he has pressured others into giving him (including his personal physician).
The VP: “Our goal is to implement the president’s vision....” Not good! Mike Pence can put on a calmer presentation, but he is clearly only an extension of Donald Trump’s psychology, coerced or not.
There is a lot of empty talk over working hard, and what sophisticated tests are being developed, instead of focusing on what specifically citizens should do to protect themselves. It is the kind of talk that those who do real work do not engage in.
Be it the surgeon general or Ben Carson, their anemic rhetoric keeps me wondering, WHERE are the good doctors of this country? Why must we put up with empty shells??
