have been working night and day on how they all can utilize this "opportunity" to capitalize on THEIR nightmare pandemic.
How can we, in short order, identify and dominate all the profits to be made off of this nightmare for ourselves and the Corporations......

This ad just wants to be Made:

“When McConnell and Senate Republicans were trying to pass tax cuts for the rich, they worked through the night, bent the rules, and rammed it through.

When the country is facing a pandemic that threatens the lives of millions, they’re not even in town.”

It is surreal. I feel like I have fallen into a disaster novel or film. That feeling was really strong Friday when I tuned in to Amy Goodman's noon report. Her staccato style of reading off coronavirus news headlines from around the world and within the US reminded me of War of the Worlds.

Then this morning I woke up to the news that 3 covid cases were confirmed late yesterday in and around the Buffalo area. I am not in Buffalo or the 2 suburbs named, but people travel daily between Buffalo and my community.

and changed it to disaster. I guess people"s minds are on the same track these days.

I've been staying home as much as possible and keeping busy with projects I had put off for 'some day." Also watching some old movies. I've collected some classics, like Casablanca, Fiddler on the Roof, etc.

One old one from 1950 is Panic in the Streets, about the arrival of a guy to NYC from eastern Europe who has bubonic plague but does not know it. When he dies and the autopsy shows the cause, a public health doctor chases down his contacts and tries to warn them but most are skeptical, including political and police officials. Tension between keeping it secret to avoid panic vs. public announcements to warn and protect people.

I watched it long ago and it's fairly well done for that era and type of movie. But I can't watch it now. Too close to home.

shrugged off by many as politicization of a pandemic crisis. Those who did not shrug it off would sharply criticize it with the same accusation. So, although true, it would backfire.

Get the word out through Facebook and retweeting instead.

No, not legislation to help families get by as they're quarantined and without work.

The Senate calendar says they take up reauthorization of parts of the Patriot Act (USA Freedom Act).

Those assholes!
