2. This was put in place in CO's H1N1 pandemic plan in 2009. It streamlines temp licensure renewal

and a mechanism to address medical malpractice insurance issues.

Every state developed plans and some may have similar abilities. But, CO was advanced enough to pass enabling legislation

I'm sure we're going to need all the medical personnel possible. Retired doctors and nurses would likely be in the highest risk age group though. It seems like pouring gas on the fire. They'd likely become patients.

the young studs are dealing with the virus patients; heart attacks, emergency appendectomies, or what not, still occur and need to be addressed.

Here's hoping the virus doesn't overlap in those populations. That would cause serious problems, but it's more likely than not to occur. Still--what else can you do when it's "all hands on deck" time? Overall, the strategy is not a bad one.

and they will take prudent precautions, just like they were trained to do; antiseptic practices work in both directions.
