1. We were due to fly to Edinburgh from Marseille on 26 march.

And then spend 10 days in the UK.

I'm not even talking about the small space crowding in the plane.

The Trump administration did this by imposing a travel ban with no plans or strategy for how to deal with the results. Just like everything else the Trump administration does. Abrupt decisions, no planning, no contingencies, nothing.

7. It is absolutely not on the airports

This is Customs and Border Protection screening people without prior planning. This has zero to do with O'Hare admin, and the governor of Illinois and Mayor of Chicago are screaming bloody murder about it and getting no help from the Feds. It was Federal gov't that designated O'Hare as a screening funnel point, and the Federal gov't that runs CBP, and the Federal gov't who failed to implement the directive of the administration in a reasonable or safe manner.

since the international airports are scrambling to adhere to new travel restrictions and screenings. I feal really bad for anyone who works in an airport right about now...

so probably have heard that Canada is limiting people coming into the country except for Americans ( so far, anyhow)

I've been watching the EU trying to cope, with various countries closing borders, altho allowing freight,
food, etc to move freely...except for the mandatory screenings at checkpoints, which has backed up traffic for hours and hours.

Today Alabama tried drive thru screenings, but did not specify people who are NOT symptomatic should not show up for a screening.
Insane traffic backup, on and off ramps were blocked, etc.

there's gonna be a lot of lessons learned from this.
