Local authorities everywhere are going to be reviewing the decision regularly, so there will be a number of 3-4 week closings, one after another, until at least September.

I saw that too. Then I also saw the Christian schools on the news that played baseball yesterday. They had fans in the stands and the players were high fiving each other. One of the coaches told the reporter he thought the virus was no worse than a mild flu and the panic was overblown. But the safety of the kids was the most important thing to him.

My wife and I went for a drive last night and were stunned to see all the cars at the big chain restaurants.

I'm afraid I won't be able to have actual public contact with anyone until autumn.

peak transmission may be late May, early June according to math models I trust.

Actually we HOPE this is the case... if the exponential rate of infection continues another week or so... we will no longer have hospital bed, workers, ventilators, etc to help many of the ill... thus a much higher death rate (like 10%)... sort of like Italy right now.

Many of the these places will not survive the imposed shutdowns. They survive on a low margin as it is. Without any money coming in, yet with so many of their creditors still making their demands, I can't imagine how many of the smaller places will make it.

a whiff of panic. I love to eat but am not a fan of cooking so I dine out and do A LOT of takeout. I forced myself today to go grocery shopping and stocked up on non-perishables... Progresso soups, here I come! I want to support local restaurants and delivery but even that makes me a wee bit nervous. We'll see. I have zero faith in the Trump admininistration and am feeling an unease I've never felt before in my life, so I hear ya.
