"But after we do everything we can do, we're going to operate on faith rather than fear"

Anti-science, alternative-reality evangelical types are a danger to all of us......

(HiffPost) What coronavirus pandemic? The National Collegiate Wrestling Association defied the urgings of health officials and held its national championship over the weekend in Allen, Texas.

“I think a lot of this is driven by fear,” Jim Giunta, the association’s executive director, told the Dallas Morning News. “We’re going to do everything in our power to create an environment that’s more than safe for our athletes. But after we do everything we can do, we’re going to operate on faith rather than fear” .......(more)

heavy making out or sex I can't think of anything off hand that puts people in such direct prolonged physical contact. With this being a national championship event it would be like having make out sessions with a bunch of different people within a relatively short time.

Add to that the audience and all the hand shaking and back slapping that goes on at sports events and it's just asking for trouble. This event is like the antithesis of the "social distancing" needed to fight COVID-19.

Fine, you're a person of faith, if you want to risk YOU go for it but you are in the world and to knowingly put so many others at risk isn't faith, it's flat out irresponsible.

It is saying that I have no power to determine my own destiny, therefore I surrender to my fate and hope that the god in created this virus didn't have me in mind at the time..
