7. I have often said that there are three jobs everyone should work sometime in their lives -

teaching, waiting tables and being a cashier at a grocery store. I've done all three and have tremendous respect and appreciation for those who hold these underpaid and largely underappreciated jobs.

All are hard and exhausting in their own unique ways. Teaching adds mental exhaustion to the mix.

8. Indeed! Of all the occupations in the world I did not want to do, homeschooling tops the list...

All those pioneer women, like Ma Ingalls, lugging their stack of schoolbooks along the endless miles so they could teach their kids the 3 Rs in the wilderness -- I salute them.

All those teachers in overcrowded classrooms, I salute them too. I wish it was up to the likes of you and me to see they got paid as much as they deserve.
