(7,849 posts)I thought people are having problems getting tested even WITH symptoms, much less those without symptoms. Or is he in a different country right now?

(50 posts)It was told to attendees that they had direct exposure with someone who tested positive. I'm sure the fact that he's Idris Elba helped tremendously, but he didn't just get test3ed on a whim.

(46,697 posts)I'm sure this is a process they are doing everywhere. Which is why they include the number of people who are being watched in the statistics.

(16,113 posts)It seems like not the best idea to quarantine together.

(102,188 posts)been exposed to him. As I told another poster, this is in UK, but the same would be done here.
She is exposed to not one, but two confirmed cases and while it would be nice to test her, it is not absolutely necessary. Rather she is assumed to be exposed and potentially infected and thus quarantined along with her husband. In order for either to leave quarantine, they both will have to test negative after 14 days. Testing is academic in her case. She is asymptomatic and it does not change what therapy would be offered to her. If there was a vaccine or a partially preventing treatment available, that would be one thing. There is not.
Sorry, but this is exactly what would occur to you if a family member in your home became infected. You would all be quarantined together, albeit if the member was symptomatic, you would be advised how to isolate within the home to protect the well and potentially uninfected members. If you chose to leave, rather than remain with the family member in quarantine, you, having been exposed would still be restricted in the new locale under your own 14 day quarantine. In the latter instance and in an ideal world where testing were readily and overwhelmingly available, we'd test you and if negative (on repeated tests, given your exposure) you could be released from quarantine early, but not allowed to return to your original home with the still quarantined family member.

(44,972 posts)If you can't get tested, you don't know that you have it. So you are not going to stay home.
