Wondering where I am on the DU bell curve of curtailed social activity.
I walked the dog;
I went to the library to vote;
I went to a bank;
I went to a sporting goods store;
Now I'm at my work.
Practiced social distancing and sanitary precautions. Wore disposable gloves in all public places.
Where have fellow DU'ers been today?

Now I am housecleaning as my cousin is stopping by on way to CA, she informed me she is healthy and has been housesitting for her friend and been alone past month with groceries delivered. So i feel safe welcoming her. She had to do that because she lives in Seattle. She is going down to CA to take care and cook for her brother that normally eats out every night. They are in late 60s. And both would have problems if they got it.

Then I went to Fry's aka Kroger got there just before 8:00 and there were already a lot of people and a lot of empty shelves as well. Came home and took my dog for a walk. Got back home and put my two desert tortoises, who just recently came out of hibernation outside in their habitat. Tomorrow we're expecting much cooler weather and rain so the torts will be staying inside in their terrarium. Another month or so and they will stay outside day and night.

I wanted to get hamburger and chix, zip, nadda. Empty cases where their frozen meat goes. We were going to go home, unload and head out to the meat market we like, when we just decided to go to the market 1st, then home. Uhm yeah. Good thing we went then. The place was packed, which it never is during the day. But I did get 5# of hamburger and 3 chix breasts. My guess is they will be closing soon, unless they get some stock in. Their frozen section was almost empty. They did have alligator meat left. Wonder why.

Good thing I did. If they were to remain open, I'd go every few days to swim laps. But, I think they're going to be forced to close by the city.
I went out for a little while to make some Vitamin D and get some fallen tree parts into the yard waste pile, as it's pick-up day. Wanted to be out a little longer, but the pollen is horrendous right now. Was going to go back out for a little while longer, but it's clouding up. Hope it rains.

Somewhere I have some Tai Chi DVDs I need to find and dust off. I've started reading the Poetic Edda. Settling in with a book and letting the Monterey Bay Aquarium Moon Jellies float around in the background sounds like a recipe for staying calm. Later I'm going to be making a big pot of something to divide into portions to freeze for later meals. It's a balancing act between being productive and staying relaxed. The oddest part is practicing not feeling guilty about staying home.

(21,784 posts). . .outside the "containment zone" in my neck of the woods.
Under ordinary circumstances, we district leaders would have done so on March 29. However, this past weekend we received an executive order from Governor Cuomo ending all ballot petitioning at 5 pm March 17. The order reduced the number of signatures needed on each petition. Since I had surpassed the quotas on March 15, this was no problem.
Then, I was at my mother's house 5 miles from my home to get her recyclables to the curb and to pick up a birthday package to send by mail to her youngest great-grand-son (my youngest grand-nephew). We would have had a family birthday party this coming Saturday involving me, my nephew, and his two sons, all born in the month of March. However, due to the current situation, we made the wise decision to cancel it.
Then I stopped by the Trader Joe's in town for a few items. No crowd, but obviously some shelves were bare.
So now I'm back home.
Of course, the usual precautions, sanitary and otherwise were practiced.
At my mother's, we spoke at a distance, and we parted with gestures; she with the Namaste, I with the universal sign language for "I Love You"

This is a small place, so I might have to wait outside for social distancing purposes. I am also still getting therapy 2x week, but this is a small single provider office and there's never been more than 1 person there and I know they are religious about their disinfection process.
