California governor places National Guard on alert

This doesn't put me at ease at all, anyone else think this will lead to Martial Law?

https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/military/story/2020-03-17/california-governor-places-national-guard-on-alert

Governor Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday he has put the California National Guard on alert to help protect communities and fight the spread of COVID-19.

In the statement, Newsom said the troops should be prepared to perform humanitarian missions such as food distribution and supply.

“As Californians make sacrifices over the coming weeks and stay home, we are immensely grateful for medical providers, first-responders and National Guard personnel who are assisting those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19,” Newsom said in the statement.

I am grateful. I trust him and I DO NOT trust the Fed Govt or CDC at this point.

He's going to use resources as needed

Roads may need to be closed
He said it would be for distribution of resources

There's a lot that goes into keeping us safe

And I honestly trust the regional response over the feds

to maintain the peace and keep order.

When the normal order of society breaks down, looting/violence/etc is often the result.

Many businesses and other places are deserted.

Much of society is being forced to shelter in place.

There is hoarding of supplies/food/etc that could prevent people from getting what the need to survive.

IOW, society is vulnerable and the conditions are beginning to resemble wartime conditions.

I hope they start retrofitting hotels etc for medical use, cuz we'll be needing it shortly.
