Health professionals across the country are speaking out, asking for more personal protective equipment.
The message is being amplified on social media through the Twitter hashtag "#GetMePPE".
This doctor in Ann Arbor tweeted she is reusing the same protective mask.
Here in Northeast Ohio, we've heard similar concerns from healthcare workers who were concerned about their jobs and contacted News 5 anonymously.
One care provider told us there weren't enough masks available at the hospital where he worked. He went on to say workers are being screened in the Emergency Department before entering, but the screeners themselves aren't wearing masks.

(23,218 posts)I bought some for my kids (not myself) because I saw this coming; however hospital protocol says you can't bring in your own.

(11,885 posts)And the government needs to ramp up production of everything , temperature guns like the Chinese and others have done, testing, protective clothing, and masks, and even our postal employees are not protected enough now. This should have already have been done, and they are dragging their feet with their stalling and lying. They should be giving everyone protective clothing , and tools needed to detect it if its present ASAP, and they aren't. Major failing from trump and the gop now. Resorting to lying about this by them is not helping anything , and is making more people distrust them.

(5,223 posts)Her employer, Kaiser Permante, has begun rationing masks for employees. Said they were for patients only. She's on the front line, testing suspected patients and has NO mask. How does that make sense? She has a small child at home and a seriously ill brother who is very vulnerable. This is becoming a mess!

(23,218 posts)An ICU nurse that my son knows is currently seeing/caring for COVID patients with no mask, either.
My son is expected to use an N-95 mask for 5 days straight.
This is sheer lunacy.
