She is clearly the adult in the room but she has to massage Trump's ego. If he gets pissed he'll dump her from the team and she loses any control in this situation.

IIRC 2 days ago I read she is a holdover from previous admin. Correct me if I'm wrong. Things, info too much happening too fast sometimes to keep up!
