like the expired supplies already sent to NY. He will make it look like he's doing a good thing but is really fucking up the ability of the state to address this situation so he can cause and then call them a failure.

<snip>
President Donald Trump is sending in the Navy to battle the coronavirus crisis, specifically two massive hospital ships.

They’re in “tip top shape,” Trump said Wednesday, and will likely be launched “in the next week or so."

But it’s anybody’s guess when those ships will come in.

The USNS Comfort, which Trump said is bound for New York Harbor, is currently undergoing maintenance somewhere on the east coast and there are no medical personnel on board, NBC News has learned.

The other ship, the USNS Mercy, is also being spruced-up and lacks a medical crew. It was not immediately known where the Mercy would be deployed.

Don't rule out that he'll tell the NY Governor to drop all the ongoing cases against him

It was intended for non-corona related patients to take some of the pressure off of the main hospitals and free up beds.

saying that the afore mentioned hospital ship was going to NYC to help with the needs there. If it's in repairs, it ain't goin' nowhere any time soon. Said it at the lie to the camera fest earlier today. The other ship is to go north up the CA coast. Wonder what its status is. There were several thousand requested medical masks sent that were expired. O guess. Not sure about that one but it seems the grudge is still alive and well in the orangeanus.

And of course, know better that believe him. I just assume everything he says is a lie.
Looks like someone whispered in his ear about the ships...wonder if it was Jared, among his other duties of acting President.

I get offline when I'm going to lay down. I didn't know a presser was coming when I got horizontal but when the music stopped, I noticed and I guess I was sort of listening to hear why there was no music. I wasn't completely awake but I heard that part and digested it right away.

Some times one or two will go out to sea to
allow others to come in for fuel and provisions.

This is why you have a pandemic response team, this is why you listen to experts who tell you things you don't want to hear, this is why you enact their expert advice before the problem fully blooms.

Both hospital ships are from converted oil tankers built circa 1975.
That's old for steel & steam ships, makes for more time in the yard fixing stuff.

It doesn't need propulsion or power. It just needs a dock to tie off to. Shore power will do until they can get generators working.

The medical force aboard the ship. When in port USA the medical detachment as a few dozen technicians to maintain the spaces, the equipment and the inventory of non perishable medical supplies. When prepping for a mission, the 1000 or so Drs, RNs, lab techs, etc are stripped from the Naval hospitals and clinics on the East and West coast.

However, neither of the 1,000-patient ships are ready to go anywhere. Both are currently in-port undergoing maintenance work and lack medical crews. It will likely take weeks, before both ships set off to their destinations. And even when the floating hospitals do arrive at their berths, they will not be taking on COVID-19 patients.

....
The USNS Comfort, which is being worked on in Norfolk, Va., is not expected to arrive in New York Harbor until sometime next month. The USNS Mercy, which is in San Diego, Calif., can be prepared sooner but it takes several days to bring aboard staff and medical equipment — and its final destination has yet to be identified.
