Bloomberg, or some billionaire, needs to buy and widely distribute

One (or many) of those rapid test kits that are being developed elsewhere in the world.

Something that people can self-administer and mail to a testing lab that has rapid turnaround.

The hitch would be that it's not FDA or CDC approved, but it would be for the individuals own private use and knowledge.

Yes, I do see all the potential pitfalls, so please don't post them as though I'm an idiot. I just think that, all things considered, it would help.

Bloomberg'.could do this .The man is worth 61 Billion.dollars.-- How much did he fork over for his campaign, 500 Million? He could do this.

but in particular, where Google or Microsoft are involved, where the swabs somehow become the property of Google/MS and are subsequently used for DNA sequencing (think 23 and me)... that's a frightening little rabbit hole

Better to fund places like universities that have developed such kits so that they can be mass produced.
