said the same BS to me on Sunday. I wanted to punch him in the face and I told him so. And I am a 5'1" pacifist who was also a teacher.

A real Progressive movement has to come from working class adults.

Not all, of course, but I suspect the percentage of risk takers during any particular era is probably consistent. Many adults of all ages continued to engage in unprotected sex even at the height of the HIV/AIDS scares. Teens and young adults from the beginning of time saw themselves as invincible, and this generation is no different. Coronavirus is the threat of the day, and it's difficult to blame them for such irrational responses when barely a week ago all right wing media and the President of the United States was telling them the virus is just a hoax headed by Democrats.

Just thinking about the laundry list of mind-numbingly stupid things I did as a young adult makes my head hurt. Frankly, given that the current President of the United States is essentially Ignatius J. Reilly without the hat, there is good reason for these "kids" to think the world is taking a giant dump on their futures anyway, so why not "Turn it up!"

I'm 78 my husband is 81. We did things in our younger years that would be considered stupid.
We didn't think anything of it. I was going to say .. nothing that would get us killed.... but some maybe would have.
There are things that we would not tell our kids, particularly when they were teens.

But that first guy probably was. He will graduate last in his medical class and be your primary care physician.
