All I keep hearing about is how well Amazon is doing because people are all buying online, but don't distribution centers seem like a prime place for outbreaks to happen? All those workers together in close quarters, cramped/shares break rooms, etc.

like health care workers, PPE for everyone, etc.
We can't lose them at this point.

(16,616 posts)3. "Amazon warehouse closes after first worker tests positive"
It's already happening!
Amazon is temporarily closing a New York delivery station after one of its workers tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
An Amazon spokesperson told The Hill on Thursday that the individual is now in quarantine and that the warehouse, DBK1, has enhanced its "daily deep cleaning" at the location as a precautionary measure.
"Weve temporarily closed the Queens delivery station for additional sanitation and have sent associates home with full pay," the spokesperson said, adding that Amazon is following guidelines from local officials about the operations of its buildings.

(5,255 posts)4. Doubt it
They would close, disinfect, make sure the worker gets treatment, and test others. They also have many distribution centers.

Millions are furloughed, Amazon could replenish its workforce easily right now, many times over.

automatically happen in them during work hours. The issues come in when people take breaks.
