Had a co-worker come to my desk and say ...

"If you've said that President Trump is not my President, you should return the $1,000 you're getting."

I responded with, "You mean that $1,000 of socialist money?"

He turned around and walk away.

over the age of 18 that has an income of more than 5k but less than 60k a year and 3k for those that earn between 60k and 80k and 1k for those earning 80k to 100k.

I believe he meant in general that anyone who says
"He's not my president" and is receiving $1,000 should return it.

But I agree with another response to this.
Trump didn't want to do this, this was forced on him by Pelosi.

It is our money. Those of us that actually PAY taxes. And remind your coworker that billions more dollars of OUR taxes are going to bail out Airlines and Fracking Corps, billionaire Hotel Owners, that are exempt from paying taxes, as per HIS president. Fiscally CONservitive debt CONcerned GOP pResident. More cash to HIS no tax paying pResident. Those many billions for Corp bailout is to ppl that get billion dollar bonuse, put it off shore and not use a dime to save their own business. You now, like capitalism.

Reducing funding to local and state governments to account for the money, so they have to raise their taxes to offset the missing funds from the federal government. Which will then turn into people paying more back than $1,000 in added taxes in the future.

a way we can send it back so we do not have to claim it on taxes.

I have not done taxes in years because I am on SSDI and have not worked. I really do not want to have to do them again just because of this.

In any case .. this is far under the cap (excess over SSI) requiring this person to pay as additional income.

As usual, Trump has run around to the front of the parade to pretend like he's been leading it all the time. The stimulus proposal was first put out there by Democratic office holders like Sen. Warren and Rep. Waters. Trump's just trying to grab some glory for himself.

I am having the same discussion, if you can call being it a discussion. Seems that if it benefits the rwnjs it's not socialism but helping the country out of a jam along with the working people.

None have threatened to turn theirs back in. As far as it being "our" money, it's more like "our debt" not a piggy bank that can be shaken and out pops a trillion dollars of so.

for other allowable deductions. Possible two checks so borderline income amounts will land one in a higher bracket just after anything we manage to save to ward off a temporary crisis at home...reduce debt, or spread around the universe vanished back into the ether...TPTB will find a way to collect it right back - maybe in healthcare premiums???

It was just my way of saying that the RW keeps screaming about socialism,
yet they are willing to accept government money if it benefits them.

Look at the farmers that got bailed out. There are a lot of farmers that will
not vote for the Pendejo in the WH, but the majority will still vote for him.
Would they consider that socialism? Why wouldn't it be? It was money handed
to them, by the government, to cover the loses the Pendejo himself created.

There is only a handful of people.
I get in car, leave my house, drive to work.
Park car, walk in to building and work.
Walk back to car, leave work, drive home.

I don't stop off anywhere and I don't try to touch anything
at work. I have Disinfectant, wet wipes and hand sanitizer everywhere
I go.

There is no stimulus without Congress. There is absolutely nothing without Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Schumer and Democratic senators and congressional representatives.

(deceptive because it turned out you had to include it as income on your tax return that year, in effect paying it back)

Two co-workers did the same thing, said I shouldn't accept the money because I so disliked Bush.
I agreed, and showed them a copy of the check I had written (don't remember if it was $300 or $500) to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. See, I told them, I didn't keep his money.

my income a large percentage about 70 is from public art and craft shows thank god being self employed I have put money aside for slow times. I will do more online selling. Have a line of handmade wooden weed pipes that do well at shows. Be putting them on eBay now.

If they really want to help, why not just return ALL the tax money that was collected last year from people making under 250k? If the GOP can hook up large corporations then surely they can refund money to regular taxpayers.

In the first place. Andrew Yang had been pushing this idea for months and the Democrats in the house has to pass it before Trump can sign the bill into law so the Democrats are as much or more responsible for it as Trump is.

Owe my husband and I $5k. Last year with their tax manipulations, they took our usual refund, then we still had to pay $3k extra.

I know a majority of families were in the same situation.
