Looking for something to read while you're socially distant?

I managed to get my book up online faster than I thought I would:

https://www.mountainstormpress.com

This is my book about how all of the states got their names. It's free, it's online, and it isn't about politics (well, mostly; I do manage to get a dig in at racists and bigots here and there).

Everyone here was very kind when I announced that I was starting this project, so I thought I would let you all know that it's finished. (Next up: I might try to do videos )

Also, if it's not too much trouble, I welcome any notes on typos, mistakes, etc. (please be kind). I think I got the formatting issues fixed from earlier, but I wouldn't mind being notified of problems there too.

Anyway, enjoy.

and it is wonderful! So many stories, I need to sit down and read more but got busy and have not for a little while. Every state, it truly is a wonderful read.

Thank you for all the work you put into it. I reads like a work of love of the story.

I didn't really start it as a labor of love, but I guess that's the thing about love. It finds you when you least expect it. (This from a woman who has been married to the love of my life for 28 years )

I truly appreciate your encouraging words.

I'm about 1/2 way through Missouri, my adopted state. Had to stop to talk to a client, but have bookmarked for later.

I'm currently reading Undaunted Courage, so this ties in perfectly!

This is fantastic and I'm so, so happy for you and can't thank you enough for sharing with all of us!

Just asking because of your user name. I was born in Austin, grew up in East Texas (Longview). I'm in Colorado now, but my whole family live in Texas.

Anyway, download away. Hope you enjoy it.

I moved away at age 20 (an age now long in my past!) and have managed to live in multiple states through work. I’m retired now, but I live in Austin and thoroughly enjoy it (r at least I did before the city shut down last week!). No more shoveling snow! As you would know, it’s actually quite exciting to see snow here. Austin is just one of those cities that is easy to live in, though I must say that its public transportation is sadly lacking, especially given the growth I’ve seen in the last decade.

Hope your family are all doing well here. We’re all pretty much on lockdown, which is okay with me, though I may be going stir crazy soon. Your book will give me some hours of reading enjoyment since I have lived in six different states, so thanks for occupying some of my unexpected free time!

I just enjoyed Georgia's chapter. The price is so reasonable that I've put it on the gift list I keep up for my grandchildren to browse. Thanks very much, Kag.
