as opposed to none at all. cotton masks like those posted here on DU also are washable and last until the elastic weakens

would work as well as a scarf or bandana, at least.

I have submitted this question to some of the folks promoting this campaign. But no response yet. My concern would be if some of the makers themselves may be CV+.

Any medical personnel out there who could offer ideas? Can they be sterilized at hospitals before use?
