What worries me

is the idea that the Governors and Mayors will take steps which actually are effective in reducing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic before November to the point where it is no longer a main topic on the "damn liberal media" and the Moron in Chief takes the credit. We know that he would do that. If that happens, we could well be facing a second term of a man obviously unqualified to hold the office, but memories are short.

on who they blame for it. Trump's doing everything he can to blame it on the Chinese, and I think he has an outside chance of making it stick.

What worries me are the people that have been snooping into our power grids. If an enemy sabotages our power grid or even just fucks with it at the height of this we are cooked.

This scares the ever living shit out of me

4. Only the most hardcore of his base will vote

And many of those will have gotten the corona virus, so those won’t be voting for him.

If the red states don’t take the necessary steps to minimize the effects of the virus a whole lot of their citizens are going to die.

His base is probably the most vulnerable just because of willful ignorance.

He won’t get elected.

The politics will be litigated at the appropriate time. I don’t think that’s going to go particularly well for Trump and the GOP but as was the case before this crisis we’ll still need to get out and vote.

The reality of his destructive and insane downplaying will be tough for him to escape.

In any case, whoever does whatever, I want this under control.

We win by making it clear that progressive policies are the ONLY way to effectively deal with the massive economic fallout.

Starting with the fact this nation must institute a significant wealth tax. It is an investment in rebuilding wealth.

Sure, we're going to come out of this with our nation's combined assets much diminished. However, a lions share of those assets will still remain in the hands of the top 10% in terms of wealth.

If those folks want a shot at recouping losses, they've got to make a BIG investment in getting the economy moving. And they need to continue making a meaningful investment going forward, so we come out of this with a FAR more healthy distribution of wealth and income earning potential.

It is for their own benefit.

We all need to pull together and do our bit -- with those who are the most fortunate, making the most substantial contribution.

Where corporate bailouts are needed, they'll be needed. Businesses that have actually benefited need to be investing a REAL fair share of their profits in strengthening the nation FROM THE BOTTOM UP. But the most immediate action needs to be a wealth tax that has a shot at beginning to offset the massive deficit spending needed to keep us afloat.

Dollars in the hands of the 30% at the bottom get "multiplied" as they are spent and support businesses, who in turn spend, and on and on.

deaths and a total collapse of the economy and the rule of law. That Trump takes credit for the work of others is of less concern to me than avoiding what could be the worst event in American history.

The economy will not recover by November, will continue to bleed jobs, likely 1 million deaths an exhausted and depleted healthcare system, and both Wall Street and American Public screaming for help.....I bet that he drops out, resigns before Election Day to save humiliation.
