has been wearing Ivanka 'fashions.
The way she is dressed is not typical for women in her profession.

(10,885 posts)If she needs one in a hurry, she just grabs her tablecloth.
Look at today's version - just hanging on her shoulder, at the ready. Situation must be getting worse if she's leaving them untied.

(2,486 posts)but the clothes she's wearing under them - many look like they're silk.
Today she's wearing a silk dress with a sash.

(7,715 posts)I'm not watching this nonsense right now, but I have noticed that when Trump is speaking, Brix starts blinking like crazy.
If I recall, this is body language-speak for someone who is lying or is very nervous. She's probably a decent person herself, but knows what kind of insanity is spewing from the Idiot's mouth.
If she blinked any faster, she would probably start flying.

(42,694 posts)For that matter, what do you think her profession is? Yes she is a physician by training (should she be wearing scrubs?) But her reason for being part of the task force is that she is a State Department official (appointed by Obama) serving as Ambassador-at-Large and United States Global AIDS Coordinator. In short, she is a diplomat.
There was another thread yesterday attacking her for wearing scarves. Well, guess what. Professional women often wear scarves. Google Pelosi and scarf. Or Hillary Clinton and scarf. Or Ruth Ginsburg and scarf.
Geez. Some of the things that people think are significant astound me.

(2,486 posts)I think they're using her to showcase Ivanka's products.
I know many professional women and none of them wear such fancy clothes for information sessions.
They usually dress more conservatively. I don't think she chose those outfits.

(42,694 posts)So now you think that if she's wearing a scarf its probably an Ivanka scarf and the administration is telling her what to wear. Are you a fashion expert? do you know that it's possible to have a scarf not made by Ivanka's company? Do you think the administration is telling her what to wear?
And did you check for all the pictures of Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Ruth Bader Ginsburg (among others) wearing scarves? Are they wearing Ivanka scarves too? Are they not "professional women"?
BTW, here is a photo of Birx appearing in work capacity in 2014. While she was part of the Obama administration. Please explain how Ivanka got her to wear one her scarves for that event?

(146,286 posts)Please explain as clearly as you can why she shouldn't wear a black skirt, a white blouse and sweater, and a scarf?
I'll just wait right here...

(2,486 posts)What she's wearing in the Obama photo is perfectly fine and appropriate - I did not bring up scarves in this thread - look at post number 5. What I have noticed over the days is that she is wearing outfits (NOT the scarves) that are similar to the styles that Ivanka sells.
A black skirt and sweater set is perfect.

(146,286 posts)I think it is absolutely none of your business what an adult woman chooses to wear under any circumstances.
She is perfectly capable of choosing her own clothing, I'm sure. You seem to think she is wearing designs by Ivanka Trump. What makes you say so? Can you show me any examples of Ivankas clothing lines that are what she was wearing?
You have noticed? What have you noticed? Can you show me comparable items in Ivanka's clothing line? I believe she has discontinued that anyhow.
I think you're just looking for something to criticize here. I find it annoying, to tell you the truth. I'd be willing to bet that nothing she wears has anything to do with Ivanka Trump. If I'm wrong about, please show me some evidence.
Adults can choose their own clothing. I wouldn't choose the clothing some adults wear, but it's up to them, isn't it?
Here is an article that says that Ivanka Trump shut down her clothing line in 2018:

(2,486 posts)My comment was not a fashion one, but a political one and had nothing to do with Dr. Brix personally.
It was meant to infer that the Trumps will take advantage of anything to see their product.
I'm sorry that I wasn't clear about that.

(42,694 posts)or and endless list of other "professional" women wearing a "black skirt and sweater set." And I guess Ivanka and friends got to Dr. Birx even when before Trump was elected and forced her to wear nice clothes that you apparently find inappropriate (photo from 2016):
