Johns Hopkins map seems to have "frozen" for quite some time at less than 14.5K

Other counters have us over 16,000 cases. With the rate of growth unfortunately I'm inclined to find the 16K number more credible. I wonder what's happening with the JH map. Anyone else notice this?

What other counters/maps do you track?

And death is up 32% while the recovery rate is gaining at just half of that - 16%.

Of course, I have no idea why it happens. But I would think it's mostly a case of the programming, how and when data is scrubbed from other sites, the extent to which human intervention is required to edit that data to avoid duplication or make other adjustments, corrections/updates to code, etc. There are periods when some, most, or all of the various grid elements are showing no numbers.

The JHU info differs from worldometers and WHO. Again, I'm guessing its due to time lag (The daily WHO situation report isn't put online until mid-afternoon, for example) as well as the varied sources that are used to create the displays.

And, while I'm somewhat obsessed with the JHU updates, my wife continually reminds me that in the absence of sufficient, i.e., widespread, testing, the numbers tell a very incomplete story. Plus, I have my doubts on how complete the data is on recoveries, and I can't help but wonder about other deaths that might be attributable to COVID-19 but where people weren't necessarily tested because tests weren't available or they may have slipped through that part of the net.

the numbers themselves are much larger now, so the differences may be more noticeable while remaining statistically the same.

I watch JH and this one: https://ncov2019.live/data
When they match up I get a sense of satisfaction. (Entertainment threshold keeps going lower and lower.)
