The Peter Alexander question actually was a good question and one @potus should have hit out of the park. It gave him a chance to talk directly to the American public about what we all face together. A chance to be human and show empathy. It's just not there. #25thamendement

We can all imagine how Barack Obama would have handled that question, and we would have felt at least some degree of reassurance that a), he gave a damn about something besides himself, and b) that he was giving some degree of leadership to resolve the crisis unfolding around him. And he sure as hell wouldn't have gone into a sick tantrum about how mean the world was to him, and how it should all be about praising him and elevating him above all else, as if he was a god.
Shitgibbon cannot find that capability within himself, because it isn't there.

(11,730 posts)Mainly because he would have already shown his humanity and leadership months ago in dealing with the crisis. Agree or disagree with some of President Obama's policies, you could always tell that he was driven by the desire to do good onto others. That was ALWAYS apparent in his leadership.
As you said, Trump is incapable of showing even a little bit of humanity. He has no feeling for other people, except in how he can used them to his advantage.

(2,565 posts)Thank goodness we have Nancy. I'd like to see her do a daily presser. Or maybe just a rotating daily presser with actual leaders. Same time as his, different station.

(15,241 posts)Great idea.
How many MSMs will do this? If it is critical mass then it would have a stunning effect.
That, and forcing airports to put on CNN/MSNBC/CSPAN instead of Fux. (Oh, nobodies in airports anymore.)

(2,565 posts)That will be a nice antidote. Now if he can start assembling his shadow cabinet and include a scientist? I am so in!

(9,988 posts)That was clearly a call for a disaster boilerplate statement involving platitudes about compassion and courage, etc. Any real President could have done it. He's just not capable. He sees himself as a mighty boss, but a boss is not the same thing as a leader.

(111,245 posts)not there, he is incapable of faking it because he can't see any reason to, it doesn't feed HIM.
Remember, everything and everyone exists to feed him, to convince him he's alive and not just alive, essential to the continued operation of the universe.
He is a badly damaged man who should simply not be where he is. In fact, I can't think of any appropriate place for a malignant narcissist where they won't do tremendous damage.
