WASHINGTON Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Friday that Americans will most likely have to continue staying at home and practicing social distancing for at least several weeks" amid the coronavirus outbreak.
If you look at the trajectory of the curves of outbreaks and other areas, at least going to be several weeks, Fauci said in an interview with Savannah Guthrie on the TODAY show.
I cannot see that all of a sudden, next week or two weeks from now it's going to be over. I don't think there's a chance of that. I think it's going to be several weeks.
When speaking about whether its time for President Donald Trump to use the Defense Production Act to produce critical supplies, Fauci suggested that the U.S. should be doing everything in its power to slow the outbreak.

(21,111 posts)People going in. So it is never crowded. I went to a store yesterday and we were limited to only 2 items of each thing. You can buy two packs of cheese, two packs of spaghetti, 2 bottles of the same wine etc. There was a guy ahead of me in line who tried to buy up all the frozen corn. The guy had at least 40 packages, the manager came over and told him he was only allowed to buy two packages. He said he had a business but they said no that it ensures everyone had a chance to buy corn. I really liked how they stood up to this guy. Later I went to the business Costco and they had these huge packages of frozen corn and thought of that guy.

(25,183 posts)anything is bearable provided it has a time limit. By setting an artificially low one, then moving the goalposts, you can get away with that for quite some time.
