Throw peanuts at the workers and send the gravy to the shareholders. This is nothing new and nothing unexpected.

Their calculation is based on the proposition that if you send the peasants a thousand bucks, they won't give a damn how much you send to the corporations. They are probably dead right.

Just a hunch....

Senate rules make Mr. Schumer largely powerless.

Speaker Pelosi has some room to manouver, and some power to influence the outcome, but there are limits to both for her.
