"Nothing matters" any longer -it's Captain Trips without the massive fatalities
Los Angeles Department of Health has instructed that tests are unnecessary if the symptoms warrant the treatment which would be undertaken in any event.
This is the perfect virus: incredibly contagious, kills just fewer than 10 percent of infected souls, weeds out unhealthy individuals, is communicable in the asymptomatic prodromal phase and for days after cessation of symptoms, is both airborne and oral-fecal route which ensures excellent efficiency, has the potential to mutate to a new strain which can start all over again at some date in the future, reinfecting the population de novo.
And it is disruptive: isolation and diminution of the workforce, high fever and concomitant disorientation and emotional as well as physical disturbances. Fear of course is a great factor: fear of loss and death of self, family, acquaintances, and support system. This is just perfect. The world will be able to reconstruct itself but with marked changes forever : economically, politically, educationally, medically, and even religiously. This is a seminal moment in mankind’s history. Everything is going to be altered after this for an indefinite period. Certainly it is history in the making. May we survive this relatively intact? Perhaps. We shall see.
