Pelosi Tells Mitch McConnell No Pro-Corporation Coronavirus Stimulus

Speaker Pelosi shot down Mitch McConnell’s pro-corporation coronavirus stimulus bill as a non-starter for the American people.

Pelosi said in a letter to her colleagues provided to PoliticusUSA:

As you know, Senator McConnell has released his proposal for a third coronavirus response package, which is not at all pro-worker and puts corporations ahead of working people. As written, it is a non-starter.

….

First and foremost, our response must address the coronavirus outbreak as the public health crisis that it is: rebuilding our health care infrastructure on a national scale and securing the resources to test and treat everyone. We must do everything that we can to support doctors and scientists as they pursue treatments, a cure and a vaccine. - PolticusUSA

To those hair splitters out there, this is how PoliticusUSA finished off the article:
...Republicans are attempting to use the coronavirus epidemic as cover for more money for corporations that they are attempting to disguise as aid to every American.

Nancy Pelosi is standing up for the American people, and without the House Democratic majority, Republicans would bail out corporations and cut taxes for the wealthy while calling it coronavirus stimulus.

I hear some people say democrats aren't doing enough. Fuck that!. They're doing everything within their power to do to fight back. Maybe instead of criticizing democrats, how about getting behind them and attacking rePuticans so the democrats can actually govern from a majority. Then at some later juncture, if they don't address every issue you've split hairs about as make-or-break in your world, then help elect other democrats. But until then, they need our support! Democrats lead. Act like one and lead the charge against these criminal rePuticans, first and foremost!

it is for them to make payrolls and keep people employed. NOTHING ELSE. We want people to have those jobs to go back to and keeping them employed is easier for them and keeps the strain off the unemployment system.

It's like they're predisposed to bitch and complain that she's not doing enough without waiting to see what her plan is. She hasn't let us down since she regained the gavel. Shouldn't that be reason enough to be patient and given her breathing room?

has the money they are unlikely to do things like buy their own stock back, not create many new jobs, not raise employees wages much and or offshore even more jobs like the varies corporations have done and continue to do.
After all at some time the taxpayer gravy train for corporations has to stop and it might as well be now.

I do too. Those generally turn out the same people who don't get that part of the problem is that Republicans are doing TOO MUCH - too much to destroy the Constitution. Too much to destroy voting rights for anyone who isn't brainwashed Too much to prevent Democrats from having any ability to act (like the states whose Republican legislatures promptle passed legislation in December to reduce a newly elected Democratic governor's power in January.)

Democrats don't have a magic wand. We can't do things Republicans prevent us from doing.

If you think Democrats aren't doing enough, why don't you try electing more of them, both up and down tha ballot, so that they will be able to do more?
