Maybe he is so deluded and narcissistic that he isn't scared

And if he's not scared, no one else should be. This is the guy who said he would have stormed the gunman at Parkland, unarmed.
Maybe his malignant narcissism is so strong that he thinks he is immune to this and anyone who gets it is a weak loser and deserves to die.

After all, he is going to live to be 200. He has superior genes. He is the world's leading expert on everything.

Remember that scene in Star Trek when Spock is asked "how do you feel?" And he answers "I do not understand the question. "
