(12,165 posts)This administration can not be kicked out of office fast enough.
And that HHS douche -- what a useless dumbass. He couldn't or wouldn't say where they're shipping masks. Just that they're accessing.
These people are nuts. We're on our own, except for following the lead of Gov. Cuomo and Gov. Newsom. Oh, and Dr. Fauci. He's good too and refuses to ride the bullshit express.

(7,888 posts)Republicans have been stoking resentment toward "big government", using it as a campaign slogan for decades,"clean the swamp". Reduce my taxes, kill SS and Medicare, eliminate food stamp programs, use Federal funds for private religious schools and the beat goes on.
If polls are an accurate reflection of public beliefs, fully one third of American voters are giving a confirmation that, indeed, some of US are dumber than rocks, whatever that means.

(22,632 posts)The difference between voluntary and other types of manslaughter. He's certainly guilty of nefarious acts.
He's a psychopath. We should expect pain, abuse and suffering. It's what they do.
He's really in his element because what could cause more pain and suffering than a deadly pandemic?
He barely has to lift a finger to exercise his psychopathic tendencies.
He literally has to just do nothing and he's all set, mission accomplished.
dchill
(38,472 posts)He has caused many deaths through his actions and inactions. Those who would otherwise have lived. It's definitely not involuntary. He has consciously taken these actions. That's voluntary, and attorneys do not own the language.

(22,632 posts)There has to be some applicable legalese. I was just wondering if you knew what it is. Maybe one of our many DU attorneys will see our posts and put my curiosity to bed. Thanks for the reply, dchill. Good luck to you! ❤ nt

(6,181 posts)So typical Trump. If things go well he will take ALL the credit. If things go south he will blame the Governors. Starting with the Democratic-run states.
While in the background helping republican-run states. Look at Florida they got all the emergency materials they requested.
Reportedly other states are not getting responses to their requests.

(6,513 posts)impeach the bastard again. He wants even more power over us. He has to go! So what if we have to hold it during Covid-19? It's not like he's doing anything to help us.
Whoever heard of a scenario where people have to sew their own masks?? It's ridiculous. If he had wanted to help, he would have seen to it that we have at the very least, masks to wear. Something to interrupt the chain of transmission.
Instead, we have a pRes and his rotten family attempting to use the virus against us and for his reelection campaign. Eff him.
Nancy, impeach the brainless fool!

(1,633 posts)Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice is "Failure to Obey an Order or Regulation" (Written or stated). It is considered a dereliction of duty when unable or unwilling to perform the job assigned to military personnel.
For a willful dereliction of duty, the maximum punishment is a bad-conduct discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for six months.
When you consider that Trump is suppose to follow the oath of office; "faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
He's a Piss Poor Example.

(7,212 posts)The line I used to an Army Colonel years ago who wondered why we werent doing enough on his project. We had a contract, but the Army had not cut a P.O. against it, and without that - NOTHING HAPPENS!
So. Show me the CDCs, FEMAs, etcs P.O.s for masks, ventilators, medical gowns, etc, etc..and then I may believe.
Media: Call those companies and ask if they have received those P.O.s.
(Side note: When the Colonel heard that nothing had happened on that P.O. he went into raging batshit mode! Really something to see! We had that order in hours. And THEN he had leverage over me!)

(21,560 posts)even if today he says "yes everyone go make ventilators", they don't just magically show up the next day. where do they get parts from? how to we train people to assemble them? it will likely take several weeks to start churning out assembled ventilators in the quantities we need and that is optimistic.
in other words.... TOO LATE
We should have been talking about this in JANUARY

(21,858 posts)has requested and has received lots of help. for example Christian Siriano (a designer who won Project Runway) is using his workshop to make masks.
Someone else said they had a 3-D printer and would be happy to help make whatever was needed.
A metal worker offered to make metal items, bed frames, respirator brackets. etc.
People are really stepping up.
