Social distancing

So spouse and I were at a home depot buying a replacement water filter for refrigerator.

Line was incredibly long but we went to stand in it anyway.

Older lady walks up behind spouse, like less than 3 feet and starts coughing, not covering her mouth until half way done.

I turned hard to her and told her "please stand back 6 feet" and no, I didn't say it nicely.

Spouse got embarrassed but I don't care. What that lady did was incredibly irresponsible and rude.

Also mad at Home Depot as they were doing nothing to enforce the 6 foot rule.

This is why things will get worse long before they get better.

Please respect other's space.

That woman was in incredibly irresponsible. Good for you telling her off.

I was in Walmart early in the am the other day and went to the self checkouts, which were totally empty. I was buying one item. And the older woman employee who was assigned to watch people at the checkouts comes over and proceeds to tell me a story about some customer who gave her a hard time about a return, talking in a loud booming voice getting within 3 ft. of me. I kept backing up till my transaction was done and scooted off while she was in mid sentence. What don’t they get? These are store clerks who you would think have been briefed by management on social distancing. Happened to me in another store yesterday as well. The cashier!

Even when waiting to get in, the line has a 6 feet separation between people.

gas station they have tape lines where you have to stand behind to call your order, while at the cash desk they have Perspex dropped from the ceiling as a barrier to the cashier. They also have asked people to use tap and go cards rather than cash, where possible.

At pharmacies, the Perspex is there too, while those behind the counter have masks and gloves. You hand over the prescription and go. They'll text when ready for you to call back.
