"SNIP.....
President Trump on Saturday insisted that his administration didnt act late in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic following a report from the Washington Post that said the White House ignored early warnings from the intelligence community, The Hill reports.
Said Trump: I think the Washington Post covers us very inaccurately. I saw the story. I think its a disgrace, but its the Washington Post, and I guess we have to live with it. Its a very inaccurate story.
....SNIP"

(2,336 posts)Well, Tom Cotton got the memo. Here he is on Feb 8
I don't have the will right now but there are many many more video examples of this. He knew, he just wanted to pretend it wasn't happening so his beautiful numbers wouldn't be affected.
Edit: adding, I didn't watch the entire video just saw it was talking about the CV. The point I'm trying to make is he was well aware, and despite his pretending otherwise, it's another lie.
Lock him up.
(6,874 posts)He claims to the country's face nobody knew, and if *he* would have known blah blah blah
Just the usual *perfect* pack of lies.

His administration did not take all the necessary steps to safeguard citizens or the production of masks and respirators would have been high on the agenda. Further the next day at the rally he accused the fake media and Democrat (sic) Party of a hoax.THen there's this

KEY POINTS
President Trump says that Democrats are using the virulent coronavirus as a hoax to damage him and his administration.
The Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus, he said from a campaign rally in North Charleston, South Carolina. This is their new hoax.
The coronavirus, which began in Wuhan, China, has now killed more than 2,800 people worldwide and infected more than 80,000.
The total number of cases in the U.S. was 63 as of the latest announcements, with most cases being former passengers on the Diamond Princess cruise ship and evacuees from Wuhan.

(1,178 posts)The reason he's saying that now is because the political strategy is to blame it on China for lying to the international community on how bad the pandemic was. Saying he had early warnings would kill the narrative of their political strategy.
