Testing will be useful for future epidemiologists, but there's no longer a current decision it would inform.

One personal example: My son lives about 200 yards from me. The last outside contact anyone in his household had was 5 days ago, which is the incubation period. However, we still can't interact because some people are asymptomatic and he worries about transmitting it to my wife and I, both in high-risk categories.
Beyond that, testing will show where there are 'hot' spots and help with logistics.
