Stay close to home. Read a Book. Talk to your spouse and kids. Play some games. Bond, they may not be there tomorrow if you are foolish.
This is not a test. This is an emergency.

(83,746 posts)I do nothing at times and feel isolated. If it wasn't for DU, books and movies I would be lost.
My full time job is 24/7 home care for my 94 year old mom. My sister and I are trying to keep her safe. We are thinking of letting some of the hospice care givers go as it puts her in danger. The physical burden on us will be overwhelming.
Hugs and be well. Hard times a coming.

(53,410 posts)She had Dementia and was bedridden. My son moved back from out of state to help me after the first two years to help me because I had to go back to work. He worked free lance so he could take care of her during the day.
My day started two hours earlier because I had to change her bedding and clean her up. She was incontinent. When I got home after work I had to do it all over again for another two hours. It lasted for 5 years all together and it was physically brutal. My son helped by feeding her and helping her during the day.
Its tough, I know. There was no life outside of work and taking care of her. But she was at home, in peaceful surroundings with the pets she loved.

(83,746 posts)I am blessed that mom does not have dementia like dad did.
She is old but with it. The scary part now is not being able to get meds for her and groceries without exposing her. We order and can pick up at the in the car as much as we can. Hospice, the nurse and homecare givers we are going to have to let go. We or they bring the virus in, she dies. My sister and I are both in danger as well. We are in our mid to late 60s.
Hug to you.

(53,410 posts)This virus exacerbates everything! Maybe soon youll be able to get her medication through the mail. And do you have a grocery delivery service in your area? I started using Instacart when my mother was sick and I use it now because I have limited mobility. Its been a godsend! Just recently the CEO sent out a letter saying what theyre doing to deal with this Pandemic.

(33,328 posts)He doesn't mind if I use him for a backrest, but getting him adjusted for the right aim and angle for tv is too much like work.

(11,591 posts)I'm used to working. My husband and I both work for the state so we're luckier than most. My husband is working remotely. I can't really do that with my job duties. Right now things are up in the air for me.

(11,451 posts)That is not taking it as seriously and goes to stores even if we have food?
Right now its causing arguments. I made him take wipes with him yesterday, he just wanted to make recipe we didnt have ingredients for, but we have plenty of food. He went to two stores.
He thinks I am overreacting, am I?
