fans. Trump and his fans were busy blowing this off instead of taking action. When he was being warned early on by his own experts, he wanted no part of it. He wanted to talk about vaping, not a deadly virus heading our way. But once again, blaming China is another one of those alternative facts that only the brainwashed will believe. Anyone but him, and this administration. Blame China, Blame Obama. But not this administration that is currently in power.

China hid the scope of this until it exploded and they could not contain it any longer. In the meantime people were traveling into and out of the region and the country infecting others all over the globe. China is completely responsible. Hopefully this will lead our political leaders to reduce trade and investment in China until a more transparent government takes over.

China also allows the filthy conditions to exist in the interior of the country. Of course the media just like to show Shanghai and Beijing. Interesting to see who is jumping up to defend China in this...

"Because of Trump’s negligence, the United States lost two months of response time — precious days that should have been used to test the population, produce more N95 masks and ventilators, and build new hospital beds. This past week, the Pentagon finally announced that a Navy hospital ship would be heading to New York — but it will take at least two weeks to get ready. Why wasn’t the deployment order given sooner? Even now, with the crisis upon us, Trump hesitates to use his full authority to order wartime production of ventilators needed to keep thousands of patients alive."

**Quote:

Utterly lacking in empathy, Trump is incapable of rallying a shell-shocked nation. When asked on Friday, “What do you say to Americans who are watching you right now who are scared?,” Trump launched into a tirade against the reporter who asked the question. Like the snake-oil salesman that he is, his version of reassurance is to tout miracle cures that have not been verified by medical science.

I weep in anger and frustration imagining what might have been if Hillary Clinton — a sane, sensible adult — had won. We couldn’t have avoided the coronavirus, but we could have ameliorated its effects. We could be South Korea (102 deaths) rather than Italy (4,825 deaths and counting).

It was precisely because we were afraid of how Trump would mishandle his weighty responsibilities that some “Never Trump” conservatives supported Clinton in 2016. On May 8, 2016, I wrote in the Los Angeles Times: “There has never been a major party nominee in U.S. history as unqualified for the presidency. The risk of Trump winning, however remote, represents the biggest national security threat that the United States faces today.”

I do not cite my earlier article — one of dozens I wrote in 2015 and 2016 warning in ever-more-urgent tones of the danger of electing Trump — as a way of patting myself on the back for prescience. It took no foresight to predict that Trump would be a catastrophe in a crisis. It was close to the conventional wisdom. Yet nearly 63 million voters chose to disregard such warnings.

And they did something about it while trump, who had ignored warnings of exactly this, then still did nothing . Now trump is trying to demonize them , and lying making false claims by promoting propaganda against them to hide his complete failure to protect us. Trump and pence failed , and still in charge of this which is failing fast too, and while trump claims again the opposite of the truth saying he is doing a great job, while everything tanks on us all. Trump and pence can't even be truthful with any of this or anything else they say or do. They both should be called on to resign for this at once.

President Trump says that Democrats are using the virulent coronavirus as a “hoax” to damage him and his administration.
“The Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus,” he said from a campaign rally in North Charleston, South Carolina. “This is their new hoax.”
The coronavirus, which began in Wuhan, China, has now killed more than 2,800 people worldwide and infected more than 80,000.
The total number of cases in the U.S. was 63 as of the latest announcements, with most cases being former passengers on the Diamond Princess cruise ship and evacuees from Wuhan.

Neither one can be honest and tell the truth on anything, both are corrupt and ignorant so why are they still in charge of this? It's possible that many of the walking healthy are now carriers because of the delay in social distancing that could have begun earlier by weeks! Someone posted this link this morning. A model of when US hospitals that will be overwhelmed with patients at the current rate of spread. Consider the Cases vs. Hospitalizations number? Check the Death rate for Italy. (Johns Hopkins Tracking site) Yesterday it jumped over 700 died in 24 hours. Consider the density of NY and what might happen there! The NY deaths are now approaching WA including the nursing home numbers.

The MAGATs want to call it the “Wuhan Virus” after where it originated and they claim trump’s handling of the pandemic is phenomenal. So, in honor of trump’s supposed great handling, we should refer to the virus and pandemic as the “trump Pandemic” and “trump Virus”. The same goes with the trump economy.

It’s just like how they called the Affordable Care Act “Obamacare” in an effort to smear Obama and his legislation. It turned out to be very popular and a term of endearment for the ACA.

We need to keep the pressure on China. There is no democracy, there are no civil rights, but at least their government, unlike ours, has a sense of shame. Criticism from their own people on social media and across the world did get results, ie closing of wet markets.

The first case in China was reported November 17, and it wasn't in Wuhan. At the time it was an unknown illness, and not clear that there was human to human transmission.

https://www.livescience.com/first-case-coronavirus-found.html

The first case in Wuhan was around Dec. 1. Again, this was a NOVEL coronavirus. Meaning NEW.

China alerted WHO there was a problem on Dec. 31.
