Failure

The Media absolutely failed us as a country. The airtime and fawning they gave/allowed this blithering idiot during the campaign did only one thing. Brought ratings and money in for them. They should have done objective and factual reporting ringing the alarm bells.
He is a fraud and the Media has blood on their hands. Oh sure they are ringing alarm bells now with their "hair on fire" reporting.
Why? Once again ratings and money. They need to be held accountable. There are those of us who know, have known what mess we were in for. But thousands of people just don't have critical thinking skills. It's apparent by how long it took us to start shutting down. It should have happened a month ago at least. Blood on their hands, they have correspondents all over the world. Irresponsible.

donnie is beyond doubt the biggest liar in american political history.

al gore had a reputation of being a boy scout, honest to a fault. so the right-wing came up with the ridiculous "al gore claimed he invented the internet" talking point. this was a lie, al gore (obviously) never claimed to have invented it from an engineering perspective, he never even used the worth "invented". he merely took credit for doing the most *in congress* to bring it about.

in fact, al gore not only did do more than anyone else in congress to secure funding for the early internet, as vice-president he got every government agency to pour massive amounts of data and information on the world wide web when that was just getting started, which turned the internet from something of a novelty into a hugely valuable resource for many businesses and individuals. this indeed helped make the web what it is today.

anyway, just look at the coverage al gore got. the media was *relentless* in covering al gore's *one* supposed lie, which was at worst a slightly exaggerated boast (something donnie does way bigger, 10 times a day). al gore couldn't say or do anything without the media interrupting him to ask a question about this one "lie", they talked about it virtually every day, they never let up.

this is the way the media kills the careers of democratic politicians. they seize on one single negative talking point and just never let up, ever. just as they hounded hillary about the ridiculously over-played email "scandal".

meanwhile, donnie gets to lie his head of a dozen times a day and the press never does anything to seriously impair his career as a politician. they give him free license to lie and lie again. they may note that the statement is false, some in the media by now ever call them lies. but they never use it to impede their ability to be a politician, to get their message out, or to govern.

with democrats, they quickly shift to questions like "will this politician survive this scandal?" "have they become politically toxic?" or "how can they govern under this cloud?"

they never ask such questions about donnie.

they're really good at destroying democratic careers over next to nothing, yet somehow they give every chance to republicans.

Except now there is blood on their hands. I hold them responsible for the coming months
