If the self styled "Moral majority" were really the majority,
the GOP would never lose an election.
This meme, like the "silent majority" before it", was a bit of genius propaganda crafted to convince the minority of voters, the misinformed and racist prominent among them, that they were, and are, actually the majority.
And the GOP has pushed this deceptive meme, using deceptive maps that purport to show that the vast majority of the US is deep red, when in fact these maps, adjusted for population density, actually show that the vast majority of America resides in blue areas.
And the GOP is aided in this by a US corporate controlled media that publishes the voluminous output of the plethora of far right lobbying groups that are funded by the rich Libertarian fringe. And these deceptive pieces are presented as legitimate, and a reflecting reality.
Thus we can experience a series of supply side tax cuts for the rich that always and inevitably increase the deficit, and always hurt the bottom 90%, while the US media rarely examines what actually happens after these supply side policies are enacted.
